We’ll be releasing a training plan ahead of the big day, but the most important thing is to get those miles under your belt.
No, you must purchase a camping ticket, you can do so here. All camping tickets are per person not pitch. The campsite is open for Friday and Saturday night, and all camping tickets and pitch fees cover both nights. Camping is on the opposite side of the event village from the car park. You cannot park in the campsite, be prepared to carry your gear for a 10min walk. Campervan & Caravan pitches are available (no hook-up) and each occupant will require a camping ticket. Glamping is also be available to purchase, please see our glamping page here.
There are showers available and these will be available Saturday and Sunday.
We have 4 Water Stops out on the course. We will not offer sports nutrition as this is down to very personal choice and you should therefore plan to bring your own sports nutrition gels, powders, bars and other supplies with you. We will however offer some small snacks at various points around the course – this will be confirmed closer to the event. Rat Race Store will be present at the Start-line with a selection of user-friendly sports nutrition products for sale. Our range can also be browsed here.
We recommend good off-road running footwear. The majority of the event is off-road with some tarmac featured here and there.
Not really. You do need to consider what you wear of course and remember that you will be getting very wet and very muddy too. Fancy Dress is encouraged provided that you bear in mind the nature of the course laid out before you. Mankini’s optional.
No. Flyers are forbidden on the premises as they are litter and are contrary to our pledges given to the landowner. They are litter and charges will be levied for litter collection and advertising fees against those that distribute such items them on the event premise. Please see our terms and conditions of entry for information about the charges levied.
We will be open until midnight with a monster beer tent and a headline act on our mainstage until closing.

No. We do not offer refunds but we do offer event transfer vouchers, so you can put your credit to another event. We need 10 clear business days’ notice prior to the event to make these changes plus you will need to pay a £15 or 15% (whichever is greater) cancellation fee. Our pricing structure rewards those that commit furthest in advance and we recommend customers hold the appropriate insurance to cover non-attendance for issues such as illness or travel problems. You can view our transfer policy hereTransfer requests can be made here. You can find full Terms and Conditions here.

To smooth out demand we price earlier waves slightly higher and later waves slightly cheaper. The best prices are for those that take advantage of team discounts and enter later waves.

Burghley House is located 1 mile from Stamford and 10 miles north west of Peterborough. It is most accessible from the A1. Attendees travelling both north and southbound on the A1 should use the B1081 junction rather than the A43 junction, following the yellow and black directional signage for the event. There will also be event directional signage on the A1175 in to Stamford.

Race entry includes a finishers medal and a collectable Rat Rag. Event tees are available to purchase online and in the Rat Race store here or at the event while stocks last.

Yep for sure. We like our Dirty Weekends to be a social business. There is a charge for camping, car park and after party, but no charge to enter the event area and support the runners through the day.

Dogs are allowed in the event village however they are not allowed in the campsite area.

A Standard Parking ticket is for the weekend. It is £10 per car in advance or £15 per car in cash on the day. Your parking ticket will be valid from Friday afternoon until Sunday lunchtime. You can re-enter with the same parking ticket should you leave the site and return.

Parking space is also available next your tent with our Park-And-Pitch and serviced camping/glamping options.

Your children are welcome to come and support you and there is a kids race for 8-15 year olds too. For the after-party, Challenge 25 will be in operation on the bars and whilst Under 18s are permitted to attend, we request that they do so under the supervision of a responsible adult. Please note the After party will be ticketed after 7pm.
They register at the same tent as the adults, it closes at 13:30.
You can run alongside them but you cannot tackle the obstacles with them so we don’t have adults/children on the same equipment. You will collect a race bib from registration when your Young Mucker registers to identify you as a parent/guardian.
The Young Mucker course uses some of the early zones from the full race which will be clear of adults by the time the race starts. The rest of the course is bespoke for children and is not used by people taking part in the adults race.
Your child can run a second lap of the course providing they finish their first before 3pm (1 hour after the start time).
There is a water stop at the end of lap 1 for those wishing to take on a second lap.

Every finisher receives a medal.

Solo entries are not transferable – you can’t give or sell your entry to anyone else. If you no longer wish to take part you can obtain an event credit to the value of your entry fee paid (terms and a fee apply) which you or another person can use towards next year’s event (or any other Rat Race event). If you have purchased a team of 5 or more runners, you can add or change team members up to 10 days before the event.
